The locality
You know who should be in the room — the trades, the land owners, the business owners, the council staff who will have to look at it eventually. We do not, and no list we could buy would tell us.
Every session runs because someone in that locality decided it should. Co-organizers get the room filled; co-hosts open the evening and stand behind it. Tell us your market and we will tell you honestly what it would take.
None of it is a prerequisite for applying. It is what the evening actually runs on.
You know who should be in the room — the trades, the land owners, the business owners, the council staff who will have to look at it eventually. We do not, and no list we could buy would tell us.
An invitation from a neighbour is worth more than any advertisement we could run. That is the whole of what a co-organizer does.
A hall, a church basement, a back room, a chamber of commerce. If you cannot get one, say so on the form — we have run sessions where finding the venue was our job.
Including what will not work here and what has been tried before and failed. That is more useful to us than enthusiasm.
So that nobody applies thinking they are taking this on themselves.
A principal attends and presents. Site cost, hard and soft cost, the capital stack — prepared by us, defended by us, in front of your neighbours.
Where a venue charges, we pay it. A host is never out of pocket for the space, the chairs, or the projector.
Ticketing runs on our page and our system. You do not collect names, take money, or answer for anyone's booking.
Drawings, boards, the printed one-pager everyone leaves with. They arrive with us.
Read this before you apply. If any of it is a surprise later, we wrote it badly here.
Hosting is voluntary. There is no fee, no salary, no referral payment, and no cut of anything that gets built. If you want paid work with us, the careers page is the honest door.
A host convenes a room. A host does not represent REDPartners, quote a project, commit the firm to anything, or accept money from anyone on our behalf.
A session is a conversation, not a commitment to a market. Sometimes the answer that comes out of the room is that the project does not work — and we would rather say so in the hall than months later.
The city is the only part we cannot work out for ourselves. Everything else on this form is us trying to save you a phone call.
